Is Kashfi free? +
Yes — core search, health scores, price comparison, and barcode scanning are free forever. Premium (~AED 22/mo) adds allergen profiles, family accounts, full price history, and ad-free experience.
How are health scores calculated? +
60% Nutri-Score 2023 (nutrition), 30% additive risk (using EFSA classifications), 10% NOVA processing classification. High-risk additives cap any score at 49/100. Trans-fat above ESMA limits triggers a regulatory-violation flag.
Will Kashfi tell me if a product is halal? +
Only when the product carries a verified halal certification from a recognized body (ESMA, SFDA, JAKIM). We never algorithmically infer halal status from ingredients — that would be irresponsible. We display certification as data, not opinion.
How do you make money? +
Two ways: (1) when you tap a vendor link to buy, we earn a small affiliate commission at no extra cost to you. (2) Premium subscription. We never sell your data, never run brand-paid 'health scores,' and never blur the line between editorial and ads.
When does Kashfi launch? +
UAE soft launch in 2026. KSA follows once we complete SDAIA registration. Join the waitlist to get early access — we ship updates only when we have something real to share.
